2002-04-30 - 12:23 a.m. I just love Little Richard. I bought a CD by him a couple of weeks ago, "rip it up" for A$10 in a bargain bin, and I just can't get enough of it! The lyrics are shallow and meaningless, the music is basic 50's rock and roll, but his voice! My god can he sing! And he's a very funny person, too - there's a bit of him in the Chuck Berry doco, "Hail Hail Rock and Roll", and he absolutely steals the show. - In other news, I have missed the date to hire clothes for my graduation ceremony, and rather than trying to do something about it, I've decided I just won't go to the ceremony, and graduate in absentia instead. Well, my parents are away and it seems a bit sad to go by myself. Besides, I'm going to have another ceremony in 3 years when I get the PhD (well, if I get it) so it's not a big deal. And it's on at 10.30am, which would mean getting up early in the morning, something that seems a bit beyond me at the moment. And why am I still trying to convince myself to blow it off? Because I kinda want to go.
