2002-04-20 - 10:42 p.m. I wish there was more honesty in advertising. There's a website that I frequent, probably more frequently than I should (haha), here, and when you go from page to page you frequently get a popup that says, "Important message". BUT IT'S NOT AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE AT ALL, IT'S AN UTTERLY TRIVIAL MESSAGE, it should say, "Utterly Trivial Message, Please close this window before it has finished loading, you're only wasting your time if you don't". - Sorry, I'm hungover and feel bitter today. This morning I cringed at my behaviour last night, despite the fact that I didn't do anything. This is not good. All the time I struggle to have compassion for others; but it's in vain if I can't find any for myself. - "I know that you've gotta be free" - Oh Susanna - I'm considering discontinuing this practice of ending every entry with a song quote. Without the music, I don't think they really have that much meaning; in a way, the plain text is a betrayal of the song, because it makes something that sounds profound look like doggerel.
