It used to be that I was a big blabbermouth in tutorials. I'd talk and talk, trying to show off, trying to prove myself, desperate to impress. Now that there's no need to impress, and now that I believe in the value of humility, I try to stay quiet and listen, and speak only when something feels like it really needs to be said... the funny thing is that to listen, to truly listen, is actually much harder work than speaking, and also much more rewarding. It's hard to listen to someone who you think knows less than you do; it's humiliating to realise that they have something to offer you. But if you can let go of your pride and listen, then you can get so much, from anyone, which is really quite surprising. I only wish I'd known this sooner, and I wouldn't have wasted so much time showing off.

So tonight no light will shine on me" - Bob Dylan
